What do you do when you are told that this will be a photography production house but doesn’t want to sound like one. Well as a copywriter, you hide everything within the name. K.A.M.P is an acronym for Kalite Açısından Mükemmel Prodüksiyonlar (which can be translated “Perfect Quality Productions”) and without the dots it is camp in Turkish. This book features 500 flower drawings by architect Emir Uras. Using mixed-techniques Emir Uras has created the most amazing flower patterns as a unique expression of his love for wife Zeyneb. ISTANCOOL, created by Liberatum and held in partnership with Istanbul’74 is a significant and important cultural diplomacy summit in Istanbul. This year saw the second edition of the festival with participants including Tilda Swinton, Terry Gilliam, Kirsten Dunst, Michael Stipe, Sam Taylor-Wood, Ryan McGinley and many more. We created the identity concept and all the printed material, keeping things simple (to make room for the too many sponsor logos), yet impressive.

The new flagship store of V2K designers opened doors on December 16, 2009 with the “Portraits by Karl Lagerfeld for Maison Michel” exhibition and a party that kick-started with Jonny Rock’s adorable music and followed by tunes from DJ Paul Sevigny in the booth. I did put a few words (and touches) here and there within the store.

Antony Todd is a New Yorker with an exquisite taste in interiors. He has recently set up a nicer-than-nice store in Istanbul, and I was chosen to handle the PR promotion. My work also includes copywriting, for which I prefer to put on a quite naive tone of voice to indicate that the owner of the store is a foreigner and for the time being, Turkish is an alien language to him.

In this project is another self-initiated project to showcase some unpublished, unnecessary work. It’s a 4-page newspaper that starts with the simple word “Hello” and ends with the adverb “around”.
